How to create, rename, move, delete, and duplicate folders

In Datawrapper, you can organize all your visualizations in folders as part of your archive. You can find that overview of all your visualizations when you click on  Archive in the upper-right. If you’re already logged in, here's a direct link. The following article helps you to build exactly the folder structure you need – by renaming, nesting, duplicating, moving, deleting, and duplicating folders.

How can I create new folders?

To create a new folder, click on any of your shared or private folders and click on the big blue button + New, then Folder:

This creates a new subfolder in the folder you're currently in. If a team folder is selected ("Newsroom" in this case), it creates a top-level folder within your team.

You can also hover over a (team) folder, click on the three dots, then New > Folder:

You can add as many folders and as many hierarchy levels as you need.

How can I move folders?

The easiest way to move folders to another folder is to simply drag them to where you want them to live from now on:

You can also move folders then clicking on the three dots that appear next to them when hovering over them, then choosing  Move to... in the menu, as described above.

How can I rename, duplicate, or copy folders?

To rename or delete folders that you've created, hover over the folder in the left menu and click on the three dots that appear next to the folder. A little menu pops open. Here you can rename the folder, duplicate it, copy or move it to another folder – or you can delete it:

If you delete folder a that contains visualizations, these visualizations will not be deleted. They will move to the next-higher folder. If you delete a folder that contains other folders, they will also be moved to its parent folder.
